Two Teens Injured after Solo Vehicle Crash on Madsen Avenue in Fresno County
Fresno County, CA (March 22, 2023) – Wednesday evening, an 18-year-old died and two others sustained injuries in a solo vehicle crash on Madsen Avenue.
The fatal solo vehicle crash on Madsen Avenue in Fresno County happened around 6:00 p.m. on March 22.
CHP said a car with four teens was traveling southbound on Madsen Avenue when they attempted to make a right turn on westbound Herndon Avenue.
They failed to make the turn because of the slick roads and the high speed of the vehicle, which caused them to detour south and into the Friant-Kern Canal.
Three out of four teens were able to rescue themselves from a car that drove into a canal.
EMS transported two teens to a local hospital with moderate injuries while the 18-year-old driver was released at the scene.
Moreover, after removing the car from the canal, authorities say they found the missing 18-year-old inside and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators said neither drugs nor alcohol was determined to be a factor in the crash.
Further investigation is ongoing.
