13-Year-Old Boy Airlifted in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 44 [Redding, CA]

1 Injured in Collision Near Victor Avenue

Redding, CA (March 14, 2024) – A 13-year-old boy was airlifted following a hit-and-run crash on Highway 44 Wednesday afternoon.

The traffic accident happened around 3:30 p.m. near the area of Victor Avenue.

Troopers said the teen was hit and the driver fled the scene right away.

Moreover, the medical team responded to the collision and airlifted the victim to U.C. Davis Medical Center.

The authorities did not say if the driver has been found or arrested.

It is important to observe all driving laws and road conditions. If you see a dangerous vehicle or driver, keep your distance. If you notice a vehicle weaving in and out of the lanes, following too closely, or traveling at a higher rate of speed, move over a few lanes and get out of their way.

Drive defensively to ensure surrounding vehicles’ safety and avoid traffic accidents.

Crash on Highway 44 Injures Teen

Did you know that state laws forbid cell phone use while driving? That is because over 80% of road accidents are caused by distracted drivers.

Frankly, an accident-free life is never promised. Even so, having connections to legal experts can dictate the severity of the aftermath.

Therefore, you should know how to proceed if you are injured in a traffic accident.

Here are some things we need to do in case of an accident.

  • Seek medical attention if you sustained injuries.
  • Next, get to a safe place to prevent further damage or injury.
  • Then, collect as much information as possible: insurance and contact information of people involved in the accident and pictures/videos of vehicles involved.
  • Also, do not forget documentation of the fault and whatever else can be used as evidence.
  • Filing a police report or incident report by calling 911 is necessary.
  • Finally, hire an experienced personal injury attorney from Sweet Lawyers.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a traffic collision, contact Sweet Lawyers at (800) 674-7852.
