Multiple Vehicles Crash in Possible Hit-and-Run in Willits
WILLITS, CA (December 5, 2019) — At least one person was injured Tuesday after a multi-car accident on Highway 101 near Ridgewood Ranch.
The crash drew the California Highway Patrol and First Responders to the scene. There, authorities found several damaged vehicles located at mile markers 38 and 42.
According to reports, at least one person required medical assistance and was transported to Howard Hospital in Willits.
Commuters faced traffic in both directions as tow trucks entered the scene and police scoured the area for possible clues that drove the crash.
Per a scanner traffic report, at least one vehicle may have overturned during the incident. A gray vehicle, a white Subaru and a black Hyundai crashed in the event, with at least one of the vehicles sustaining front-end damage. In addition, a k-rail had been damaged in the collision.
The scanner report also indicated that the crash had been initially labeled as a hit-and-run resulting in a possible chase. However, an investigation to confirm this account is underway.
