Passenger Dies After Stolen Vehicle Suspect Collides With Car in Fullerton
FULLERTON, CA (April 2, 2019) – One person died in Monday’s two-vehicle crash involving a stolen vehicle at Euclid Street and West Valencia Drive.
Around 9:51 a.m., the two-vehicle accident occurred. However, the incident originated moments prior when police noticed a suspect driving a Toyota Highlander stolen out of Long Beach.
Officers first learned about a reckless driver at Orangethorpe Avenue and Brookhurst Road. However, before they arrived, callers notified them about a car driving erratically near Brookhurst Street and Valencia Drive.
Shortly after, the Toyota Highlander T-boned a Honda Accord in front of Charlie’s Best restaurant. According to news reports, the Highlander sped eastbound on Valencia Drive before broadsiding the Accord.
Unfortunately, a passenger in the Honda died in the collision and the driver suffered traumatic injuries. Meanwhile, officers took the SUV driver into custody on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle. Officers suspected the driver to be impaired, as well.
