Deadly Wrong-Way Car Crash Reported in Vacaville
VACAVILLE, CA (May 7, 2019) – A wrong-way driver was killed when he collided with a vehicle on 505 Freeway north of Vacaville late Sunday night.
The male driver of a 2009 Toyota Camry was traveling south on 505 Freeway in the No. 1 northbound lane south of Allendale Road around 11:00 p.m. As a result, he struck a 2008 Honda Civic head-on the No. 1 northbound lane, the CHP said.
Two Vacaville residents in the Honda suffered major injuries and were taken to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, the CHP said.
The Toyota driver died at the scene. Alcohol or drugs are suspected as a contributing factor in the fatal collision. However, the Solano County coroner’s office has not identified the Toyota driver.
With limited information, authorities are working to determine the possible factors of the accident.
