Deadly Two-Car Accident in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, CA (May 6, 2019) – Authorities are investigating Saturday’s fiery two-car accident at North Euclid Street and Westminster Avenue that killed a woman.
According to Garden Grove Police, the two-vehicle crash befell around 11:40 p.m.
Garden Grove Lt. Carl Whitney said a 24-year-old Garden Grove woman crashed her Lexus sedan into a Ford SUV near the intersection. Reports say the Lexus had been traveling north while the Ford was heading south.
Following the initial impact, the Lexus sedan subsequently struck a tree before bursting into flames. The Ford SUV, however, only sustained damage to the passenger side, according to a witness.
Tragically, the Lexus driver died in the burning car and the other woman sustained only minor injuries.
Piecing together remnants of this crash pose a challenge to investigators. Authorities are perplexed as to what caused these cars to collide. However, the Garden Grove Police urges witnesses to call 714-741-5898 if they hold any insight.
