1 Killed in Highway 160 3-Vehicle Collision [Rio Vista, CA]

Chp Investigates the Fatal Traffic Collision Near Brannan Island Road

Rio Vista, CA (March 10, 2023) – On Thursday, a person sustained fatal injuries following a Highway 160 3-vehicle collision.

The California Highway Patrol’s South Sacramento division received the crash report at about 2 p.m. near Brannan Island Road. Officers said the traffic incident involved a Nissan Altima, a Ford pickup truck, and a box truck.

An off-duty officer from CHP South Sac arrived at the scene and learned that one of the people involved was suffering from major head trauma and was having trouble breathing. 

Unfortunately, the person was declared dead at the scene by Rio Vista fire officials.

Officers are investigating the cause of the fatal collision near Brannan Island Road. They withheld the identity of the deceased pending notification of kin.
