EUREKA, CA (January 25, 2022) – Monday night, a person died in a multi-vehicle crash on R Street and Samoa Bridge.
 
According to reports, the incident happened at around 9:00 p.m. on R Street and Samoa Bridge.
 
A witness confirmed that the northwestbound traffic from R Street in Eureka across the Samoa Bridge remained closed.
 
Also, responders extricated one person from the wreckage. Three people sustained moderate injuries and one person died. Also, at least one of the vehicles has a juvenile occupant.
 
“One car caught on fire. Someone said there were babies in there and my heart sunk,” driver Jessica Sutton said.
 
Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the crash.
