77-Year-Old Man Dies after Multi-Vehicle Crash near 67th Avenue in Phoenix
Phoenix, AZ (June 21, 2021) – Sunday night, a 77-year-old man died and four others sustained severe injuries after a multi-vehicle crash near 67th Avenue and Osborn Road.
The fatal crash in Phoenix happened after 10 p.m. on June 20.
Phoenix Police said the crash involved four vehicles, and one fled afterward.
Reportedly, when police arrived they found a GMC pickup headed south on 67th Avenue when it rear-ended a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Both vehicles were propelled, because of the force of the crash, into the northbound lanes where they collided with a Ford Ranger and a Toyota Camry.
However, the driver of the Jeep left the crash scene before police arrived.
Police said one of the two passengers in the Ford Ranger, a 77-year-old man, later died.
Moreover, others involved in the collision were — a 73-year-old woman, a 62-year-old man, a 28-year-old man, and a 29-year-old woman — all taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators said impairment might be a factor in the collision.
