1 Dead and 2 Hurt in Tulare County Accident on Highway 65
TULARE COUNTY, CA (July 6, 2020) – Saturday night, a person died, while two others sustained injuries in an auto crash on Highway 65.
The authorities received a report of the crash just before 8:00 p.m. on Highway 65, just north of Avenue 200.
Medical responders also came to the scene. The investigation revealed that a 27-year-old woman drove a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder, without a seat belt. She headed north on Highway 65, north of Avenue 200 at an unidentified speed, spokeswoman Shasta Tollefson revealed.
Meanwhile, a male driver of a southbound 2019 GMC Sierra also traveled on the highway at the same time at a speed of 65 mph.
However, the Pathfinder drove across the highway and crashed the Sierra’s front.
The impact of the crash ejected the Pathfinder’s driver from the vehicle. The driver then fell onto the road, Tollefson added. Responders transported the female driver to Sierra View Medical Center where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, responders also transported two GMC occupants to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash. However, the authorities do not believe that alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash.
