Jacob McPherson Arrested, Passenger Dies in DUI Head-On Crash on Stockton Boulevard in Sacramento County
Sacramento County, CA (September 16, 2021) – Early Thursday morning, a passenger died, and another person sustained injuries in a DUI head-on crash on Stockton Boulevard.
Subsequently, police arrested the driver, a 34-year-old Jacob McPherson for charges of felony DUI causing death, gross vehicular manslaughter, felony evading, possession of the stolen property, and driving a stolen vehicle.
The fatal crash happened at around 2:40 a.m. on September 16.
Elk Grove police said they were pursuing a stolen car that was reportedly being driven by the suspect on Calvine Road east of Power Inn Road.
Moreover, he drove onto southbound Highway 99 going the wrong way, and that’s when officers called off their chase.
Shortly after, McPherson drove head-on into a car at the Stockton Boulevard on-ramp. The driver of the other vehicle sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
EMS then took McPherson, along with the male passenger in his vehicle to a local hospital with major injuries. However, the passenger later died at the hospital.
Their identity has not been released.
