MERCED COUNTY, CA (December 6, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, a person sustained injuries in a DUI crash on State Route 165 and Westside Boulevard.
 
According to Sgt. Danny Bowen, the incident happened at around 12:35 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on State Route 165 and Westside Boulevard.
 
Reports revealed that a northbound white Dodge Charger failed to negotiate a turn at a curb. Then, it veered off the roadway and collided with a power pole. The force of the crash pulled a second power pole down, resulting in a power and telephone outage in the area.
 
Moreover, responders transported the 19-year-old female driver of the vehicle and a 20-year-old male passenger to a Modesto-area hospital for treatment. Also, authorities arrested the driver on suspicion of a DUI.
