OCEANSIDE, CA (April 24, 2022) – Friday night, a person suffered injuries in a pedestrian crash on North El Camino Real and Coco Palms Drive.
 
The incident happened at 8:14 p.m. on North El Camino Real and Coco Palms Drive.
 
According to reports, a vehicle struck a 55-year-old man and left him with critical injuries.
 
Thus, responders took the man to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla for treatment of his severe injuries.
 
“The driver of the vehicle stopped, attempted to aid the pedestrian. And remained at the scene to provide a statement to officers,” Officer Jennifer Atenza of the OPD said.
 
The OPD Major Accident Investigation Team responded to investigate the crash. Moreover, the authorities ruled out impairment by alcohol or drugs as factors in the crash.
 
During the investigation, the roadway remained closed for around four hours.
