ALPINE, CA (November 4, 2021) – Wednesday morning, a person died in a rollover crash on Interstate 8 near Tavern Road.
According to CHP Officer Travis Garrow, the incident happened on westbound Interstate 8, east of Tavern Road.
Reports revealed that a Chevrolet Blazer lost control for unknown reasons and rolled over. The force of the crash ejected the unrestrained driver from the vehicle.
Moreover, responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics transported a Chevrolet passenger, a 40-year-old woman from Escondido, to a hospital with major injuries via helicopter.
Also, officials believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
