1 Killed in Contra Costa Motorcycle Accident on Highway 4
CONTRA COSTA, CA (August 28, 2019) – A person died in a motorcycle accident on westbound state Highway 4 on August 26.
Authorities received reports of the accident before 8:00 a.m. on westbound Highway 4 near Loveridge Road and the border between Pittsburg and Antioch.
The collision shut down the fourth right westbound lanes of the highway. By 10:35 a.m., all closed lanes reopened.
According to investigators, the rider rear-ended a Toyota Camry. The impact threw him off his motorcycle then got hit by a big rig.
The Toyota and big rig drivers stayed at the scene and helped with the investigation.
