1 Killed and 1 Hospitalized in Mendocino County Accident on West Road

MENDOCINO COUNTY, CA (October 20, 2021) – On Tuesday, a person died in a fiery crash on West Road near Zahadoom Way.

According to authorities, the incident happened on northbound West Road west of Zahadoom Way.

Reports revealed that a northbound 2017 Jeep Cherokee lost control. Then, it veered off the roadway where it struck a tree. The force of the crash caused the Jeep to catch fire.

Furthermore, passing motorists rushed to the vehicle and helped a passenger get out of the burning vehicle. However, they failed to help the driver due to the intensifying flames.

Eventually, Redwood Valley Fire personnel arrived at the scene and extinguished the vehicle fire.

Also, officials confirmed that the driver died at the scene. Moreover, the passenger sustained major injuries in the crash.

Meanwhile, the incident remains under investigation.
