1 Killed and 1 Hurt in Spokane Valley Auto Accident on Bowdish Road near 16th Avenue
SPOKANE VALLEY, WA (January 25, 2022) – Sunday morning, a person died in a solo crash on Bowdish Road near 16th Avenue.
According to authorities, the incident happened at around 12:30 a.m. Moreover, it occurred on Bowdish Road near 16th Avenue.
Reports revealed that a southbound Kia Optima sped through a four-way stop on 16th Avenue. Then, it spun out and collided with several boulders and a tree. Eventually, it rolled over to its side in a yard on the 1700 block of South Bowdish Road.
Moreover, responders from Spokane Valley Fire Department rushed to the scene and extricated three people trapped inside the vehicle. Then, paramedics transported the three patients, the 17-year-old male driver, a 19-year-old female front side passenger, and an 18-year-old male backseat passenger with severe injuries.
Furthermore, officials confirmed that the 18-year-old died in the hospital. Officers arrested and booked the driver into Spokane County Jail on suspicion of vehicular assault and vehicular homicide.
Meanwhile, authorities believed that the teenager was under the influence at the time of the incident.
