1 Killed and 1 Hospitalized in Redwood City Auto Accident on Highway 101 near Marsh Road
REDWOOD CITY, CA (May 26, 2021) – Tuesday morning, a person died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Marsh Road.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Art Montiel, the incident happened at around 4:00 a.m. Moreover, the crash transpired on Highway 101, north of Marsh Road.
Reports revealed that a first collision happened between a 2007 Chrysler minivan and a 1989 Dodge pickup truck.
The force of the crash left the Dodge facing oncoming traffic. After the first collision, a 1999 Chevrolet Astro van collided with the Dodge head-on.
Furthermore, responders rushed the Dodge driver to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The 50-year-old San Jose man driving the Chevrolet sustained a broken hand in the crash.
Meanwhile, the Chrysler driver remained at the scene. None of its occupants suffered injuries in the incident.
Moreover, authorities closed several northbound lanes of Highway 101 to give way to the investigation.
Also, officials said that it is still unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
