Driver Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Sherwood Avenue in Modesto 

Modesto, CA (April 12, 2023) – Tuesday night, one person died and one other sustained injuries in a crash on Sherwood Avenue and West Rumble Road.

The fatal crash on Sherwood Avenue in Modesto happened around 8 p.m. on April 11.

Modesto Police responded and found a gunshot victim in the driver’s seat of a car. Officers found the shooting victim in a light-colored four-door sedan

Reportedly, the shooting victim’s car crashed into another vehicle, injuring the driver, before hitting two parked vehicles and coming to rest.

The driver who was injured in the initial crash was taken by ambulance to a hospital in unknown condition.

Investigators believe the victim was shot somewhere in the area, prior to the collisions. 

Moreover, they believe this is an isolated incident and are working to identify a suspect.
