51-Year-Old Homeland Woman Died in Pedestrian Crash near Floyd Avenue
MENIFEE, CA (March 21, 2018) – A 51-year-old Homeland woman was struck and killed in a pedestrian collision on Murrieta Road near Floyd Avenue, early Wednesday morning.
Menifee police responded to the scene of the incident that occurred around 4:06 AM, after they received reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived minutes after the crash with Cal Fire personnel and found the victim lying on the road.
Emergency responders attempted resuscitation measures on the woman identified as Zena Greenhalgh, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation found that a vehicle headed north on Murrieta struck the victim, who was walking in the middle of the lane. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in the collision. The north and southbound lanes of Murrieta Rd were closed for several hours during the investigation.
