Zakiya Thomas Among 3 Killed in Walnut Creek Car Accident

 
Walnut Creek, CA (September 1, 2020) – On Monday, the Contra Costa County coroner’s office identified 18-year-0ld Zakiya Thomas of Antioch as one of the three people killed in a fiery car crash last Tuesday night in Walnut Creek.
 
The fatal incident took place at about 10:40 p.m., on August 25, near the North Main Street off-ramp from northbound Highway 680.
 
California Highway Patrol said a Pontiac Grand Prix was allegedly driving at a fast speed. Then it swerved off the highway into dirt vegetation where it smashed head-on into a tree.
 
As a result, the Prix caught fire while all the three occupants were still trapped inside.
 
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
 
Meanwhile, the crash remains under investigation.
