Armando Hernandez and Zaira Lamas Killed in Fatal Crash on Maple Avenue and Kings Canyon Road
Fresno, CA (September 11, 2020) – On Thursday, Zaira Lamas, 26, and a child named Armando Hernandez died in a crash on Maple Avenue and Kings Canyon Road.
Authorities say they responded to the area of Maple Avenue and Kings Canyon Road for a traffic crash at around 8:15 p.m.
Captain Anthony Martinez with the southeast police district said the incident began when a silver BMW driven by Richard Blair-Rodriguez, headed north on Maple avenue.
The 32-year-old later drifted into the oncoming lane and crashed with a Hyundai head-on.
Furthermore, authorities said the BMW driver, Richard Blair-Hernandez, and the Hyundai driver, Zaira Lamas, both died at the scene.
Meanwhile, a child that was inside the Hyundai, Armando Hernandez, was also found dead inside the car. A woman who was inside the Hyundai was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
Moreover, police ask the public to stay away from the area for the next five hours.
