Zachary Johnson Killed in Lake Elsinore Head-on Motorcycle Crash
LAKE ELSINORE, CA (April 15, 2019) – A man succumbed to his injuries after a motorcycle accident in Lake Elsinore on Sunday, April 7.
Officers identified the deceased motorcyclist as Zachary Johnson, 27, of Hemet.
The crash happened at about 4:15 p.m. on Ortega Highway just west of Grand Avenue in Lake Elsinore.
Johnson traveled eastbound in his motorcycle and then crossed the double yellow lanes to pass a vehicle, according to the CHP. While he was in the westbound lane, he collided head-on into a Toyota Camry.
The CHP said that the force of the accident caused Johnson to be ejected from his motorcycle. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.
Officials reopened one lane two hours later, and then the second lane at 7:20 p.m.
