1 Person Dead in San Jose Auto Accident on US 101 near San Antonio Street

SAN JOSE, CA (September 4, 2024) – Sunday morning, authorities arrested Z Stacy after a fatal single-vehicle crash on US 101 near San Antonio Street.

The incident happened around 3:31 a.m. on US 101, just south of San Antonio Street.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a Mercedes lost control for still unknown reasons and crashed on the right-hand shoulder of the roadway. Then, the force of the crash ejected a male backseat passenger of the vehicle into the roadway.

Moreover, authorities confirmed that the 19-year-old passenger died in the crash.

Furthermore, officers arrested the driver of the vehicle, identified only as 19-year-old Stacy, on suspicion of DUI.

Meanwhile, the crash closed one lane of the freeway but has long since reopened.

At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.

Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
