Teen Killed in Fallbrook Car Crash on 15 Freeway
FALLBROOK, CA (July 21, 2019) – A 19-year-old man died in a car crash on 15 Freeway Sunday afternoon in Fallbrook, according to the North County Fire Protection District.
The crash happened around 12:40 p.m. on northbound 15 Freeway, just north of Highway 76. After that, a white Buick sedan was traveling northbound when it spun out of control and drove into a ditch, before crashing into a tree.
Arriving units pronounced the teen driver dead at the scene. Paramedics took his male passenger by Mercy Air helicopter to Palomar Hospital with moderate injuries.
Officers temporarily closed all northbound lanes of 15 Freeway at Highway 76 for airship landing and rescue operation. The freeway was reopened at 1:30 p.m.
Police did not release any other information regarding the accident at this time. However, the crash remains under investigation according to authorities.
