Yolanda Villar Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Delaware Street [Burlingame, CA]

Burlingame, CA (September 20, 2024) – Yolanda Villar, a single mother, was killed in a pedestrian accident on Delaware Street Thursday evening.

It was about 6:22 p.m. when the fatal crash happened in the area of Peninsula Avenue.

Investigating officers determined the vehicle was making a left turn from northbound Delaware Street onto Peninsula Avenue when it struck the pedestrian.

The accident report stated that Villar was crossing the street on the way to view an apartment for a friend when she was hit. Officers added she was on the phone at that time.

Immediately, the emergency rescuers responded and attempted life-saving measures before transporting Villar to an area trauma hospital. 

Sadly, the authorities confirmed Yolanda Villar was killed in the accident.

The driver remained at the accident scene and cooperated with the authorities. 

Meanwhile, troopers said drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the collision.
