Yolanda Cruz of Phoenix Killed in Interstate 17 Collision [Phoenix, AZ]

Phoenix Multi-Vehicle Collision Kills Passenger

Phoenix, AZ (September 1, 2023) – On Wednesday night, 88-year-old Yolanda Cruz of Phoenix was killed following in an Interstate 17 collision.

The traffic accident happened at about 9:30 p.m. near Bethany Home Road wherein four vehicles were involved.

DPS officers said the teen driver of a GMC pickup truck rear-ended a Honda and its driver lost control. 

Afterwards, two other cars Aldo struck the Honda, and one driver slammed into a concrete wall. 

Cruz was a passenger inside the Honda. Unfortunately, she died from her injuries. 

Meanwhile, the DPS officers said the pickup driver fled from the scene but was later found.

There is no update on how many other people were hurt. Officers are investigating.
