Othello Traffic Accident Under Investigation
Othello, WA (November 27, 2023) – 22-year-old Yiqun Wang and other four people were injured following a State Route 26 collision Saturday night.
The traffic collision happened at 10:30 on November 25 on the eastbound lane of the freeway near mile post 36.
Investigators said a vehicle driven by Benqi Zhang, 21, lost control on the icy roadway and crossed into the westbound lane. The car rolled and rested in a ditch.
Zhang, Wang, and the other passengers Xian Gao, Zherong Qian, Fei Teng, all 21 years old were rushed to nearby hospitals with unknow injuries.
Officers said all five were not wearing their seatbelts when the crash happened.
WSP is investigating the cause of the collision.
