1 Dead and 3 Injured in Hazel Dell Auto Accident on Interstate 5 and 78th Street

 
HAZEL DELL, WA (December 20, 2021) – Saturday night, Ying Ting died in a crash on Interstate 5 and 78th Street.
 
The incident happened when 36-year-old Ying Ting from Portland drove south on Interstate 5. Then, his vehicle broke down on the 78th Street exit. Afterward, some passerby stopped to help, pulling over on the shoulder of the exit, in front of Ting’s car.
 
As the two occupants of that car stood between the vehicles with Ting, a third car tried to take the exit to 78th Street. The authorities identified the two occupants as 20-year-old Kiki Salazar and 21-year-old Jorge Santiago-Joaquin. That vehicle struck Ting’s car and pushed it into the three people and against the other parked car.
 
As a result, Ying Ting died in the crash. Meanwhile, Salazar and Santiago-Joaquin suffered injuries and required hospitalization.
 
Meanwhile, responders took the other driver, 33-year-old Derek Cunningham, to the hospital following the crash.
 
At this time, the authorities believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
