Tire Blowout Leads to Rear-End Collision on 15 Freeway in Yermo, Major Injuries Sustained
YERMO, CA (December 14, 2018) – One person was seriously injured following a rear-end crash Friday morning on 15 Freeway in Yermo, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash happened around 5:40 a.m. on the southbound direction of the freeway, just North of Ghost Town Road.
According to the CHP, a silver Volkswagen Touareg went off the freeway after having a tire blowout and crashed into the back of a semi truck.
One of the occupants in the car sustained a serious leg injury and was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The identity and condition of the patient were not immediately available.
A 30 feet perimeter fence was reportedly damaged from the crash. A fluid was also scattered on the roadway causing several crashes, CHP officials said.
