Yarel Ruiz Killed, Bren William Arrested in Congress Road Fatal Crash
Tucson, AZ (June 04, 2021) – On Thursday, 8-year-old Yarel Ruiz died, and police arrested 35-year-old Bren Youvella in a hit-and-run crash on Congress Road.
The fatal crash took place on Tuesday evening at the Grande Avenue intersection.
Immediately, rescuers took Ruiz and three others to a hospital at around 9:42 p.m.
Apparently, a westbound 2015 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Youvella at a high rate of speed struck a northbound vehicle.
Officers said the northbound vehicle had a green light at the time of the crash.
However, on Thursday, Ruiz succumbed to her injuries.
Police arrested Youvella at his residence in the 500 block of West Thurber Road.
They booked him into Pima County Jail on a charge of leaving the scene of a fatal collision.
