Interstate 182 Crash Injures Subaru Forester Driver
Richland, WA (October 22, 2021) – On Thursday, a woman suffered injuries in an Interstate 182 rear-end crash.
The emergency team responded to the accident scene at around 11:49 a.m. near milepost two.
Officers said two drivers were westbound on the freeway within the city limits.
The Yakima woman was driving a 2018 Subaru Forester on one of the highway lanes.
At the same time, a 41-year-old Othello man was driving a Peterbilt 379 truck in the adjacent lane.
Reports said that the truck driver merged into the Yakima woman’s lane.
However, shortly after the Peterbilt driver changed lanes, the woman rear-ended his vehicle.
The rescuers rushed the injured woman to Kadlec Regional Medical Center.
On the other hand, the truck driver was not injured in the accident.
Moreover, the authorities are still investigating this incident and potential charges have not been announced.
Officers did not say if either driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the crash.
Afterwards, traffic crews totaled the woman’s vehicle and they drove the truck away from the crash scene.
Officers confirmed that both drivers wore their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
