Injury Reported in Fatal Traffic Crash on US 283
Callahan County, TX (June 1, 2024) On Friday afternoon, 21-year-old Wylie Parker III of Troy, OH was killed and another person was hurt in a 2-vehicle crash on Highway 36.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the fatal collision happened at about 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 36 and US 283.
Reports say that Parker was driving a Kia Optima and failed to stop at the stop sign and yield the right of way causing a collision with an eastbound Ford pickup.
Authorities pronounced Parker dead at the scene, while the driver of the Ford was airlifted to a hospital in critical condition.
DPS is investigating the fatal 2-vehicle crash.
