Lynnwood Crash Injures WSDOT Crew and Another
Lynnwood, WA (September 18, 2021) – On Friday, a WSDOT crew member suffered injuries in a crash on Interstate 5.
Officers said that the WSDOT worker’s truck was parked to block the HOV lane to block the traffic from an earlier crash.
“A vehicle drove past flares, struck a cone that was blocking the scene, then rear-ended the back of the Incident Response Truck,” says an officer.
The crew member was sitting inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Right away, rescuers took the worker and the involved driver to Swedish Hospital in Edmonds.
The authorities said the WSDOT worker did not suffer serious injuries and they expect him to recover.
On the other hand, the driver who caused the accident suffered serious injuries. They said he will be cited for second-degree negligent driving.
