Salinas, CA (August 28, 2024) On Monday evening, 2 drivers were hurt after a brutal wrong way crash on Highway 101.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the head-on collision happened at about 7:15 p.m. on northbound Highway 101.

Reports say that the collision involved a blue SUV and a semi-truck colliding head-on.

Officials say that the SUV crossed into the northbound lane and hit a semi-truck head-on near Gould Road.

Medics say that the semi-truck driver suffered minor injuries, while the driver of the SUV sustained major injuries.

CHP is investigating the head-on crash and have not released additional information at this time.
