The Aftermath of Road Accidents
In a time filled with uncertainty, confronting a tragic loss can seem unimaginable. It is important to recognize that if your family loses a member in an accident, you may recover damages through a wrongful death suit. A wrongful death suit is a step towards doing right by your loved one.
It is clear now more than ever that one person’s negligence can have devastating effects on other individuals. This is quite common in accidents similar to the wrong-way collision on Interstate 5 that resulted in death. It is indeed necessary that the loved ones of the deceased become aware that they have the authority to file a wrongful death suit.
A wrongful death claim is a claim brought against a defendant who has caused someone’s death, either through negligence or as a result of some intentional action.
Let Our Team Help You Win Your Legal Case
“I think the misconception is that when a loved one passes away, the insurance company will automatically admit liability and offer all of the funds available. Insurance companies will try to save money, even if it means not fully compensating for the death of a loved one. When a family retains an attorney immediately, it gives them time to grieve their loss. Meanwhile, their attorney can start focusing on holding the negligent party accountable,” says Tyler Toomey, an attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
