BART Train Strikes Woman’s Leg while Pulling into Ashby Station near Adeline Street
BERKELEY, CA (October 1, 2019) – A woman suffered injuries after she was struck by a BART Train near Adeline Street, Tuesday morning.
According to BART spokesman Jim Allison, the incident happened at about 9:40 AM. A Richmond-bound train was pulling into the Ashby station at 3100 Adeline Street. Due to unknown reasons, prongs between the lead car and second car of the train struck the leg of a woman.
Emergency responders transported the woman to Highland Hospital in Oakland with unspecified injuries. Updates on her current condition remain unknown.
Officers continue to investigate the cause of the incident. The preliminary investigation suggests that foul play did not play a role in the case. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
