Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Union Pacific Train on Napa Avenue in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO, CA (December 29, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed by a train Sunday evening on the southeast side of Sacramento, police said.
The fatal incident happened around 7:31 p.m. on the railroad tracks near Napa Avenue and East Railroad Avenue.
According to police, the unidentified woman died at the scene when a northbound Union Pacific train struck her on the tracks.
Investigators are unsure what the woman was doing on the tracks when she was struck.
Union Pacific officials are investigating the crash.
