SIMI VALLEY, CA (September 5, 2019) – A female driver suffered injuries in a train crash in Simi Valley on September 3.
 
According to reports, an alleged hit-and-run driver escaping the scene got involved in a collision with an Amtrak train.
 
Responders transported the female driver to Simi Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
 
The suspect’s vehicle, an SUV, sustained damages and got mangled after the train crashed into it. The train carried the white BMW X5 around 200 years down the track before the train finally halted.
 
The crash led the SUV to the edge of the tracks and medical crews pulled out the driver.
 
Meanwhile, the other vehicle involved in the initial crash remained at the scene. Authorities are still investigating why the female driver fled the scene.
 
No one from the train sustained any injury.
 
Furthermore, Amtrak officials and Metrolink officials came to the scene to administer safety checks.
