Major Injuries Sustained in Stanford Pedestrian Crash Involving DUI Driver
STANFORD, CA (July 17, 2019) – A woman was seriously injured after a DUI pedestrian crash at Junipero Serra Boulevard, near Stanford Avenue.
The crash happened around 9:44 p.m., at Junipero Serra Boulevard and Stanford Avenue. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
CHP officials responded to the scene and found the pedestrian with major head injuries. A black Acura was also located with minor front-end damage.
Paramedics took the badly injured patient to a hospital for further treatment in an unknown condition. However, the victim was only described as a 22-year-old woman.
Furthermore, the Acura was towed away for evidence due to the extent of damage.
Authorities later determined that the driver of the Acura was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
It is currently unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. The crash remains under investigation.
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
