Camarillo Woman Hospitalized after Crash Along Pacific Coast Highway and Hueneme Road
Ventura County, CA (February 20, 2021) – A two-vehicle crash along Pacific Coast Highway and Hueneme Road left one woman hospitalized on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred on February 18 at around 2 p.m. near the Pacific Coast Highway and Hueneme Road intersection.
Ventura County Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the 30-year-old woman from Camarillo stuck in a 1996 Jeep Cherokee. Reports said that the Jeep had crashed into a 2006 Peterbilt semitrailer.
Then, the California Highway Patrol investigated the incident and found that both vehicles traveled westbound on Hueneme Road. The Jeep that was behind the semi did not slow down. As a result, the Jeep rear-ended the semi. However, the reason is still under investigation.
Capt. Brian McGrath, a spokesman for the Ventura County Fire Department said that at about 2:16 p.m., officials rescued the woman and transported her to the hospital with moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi was not injured.
Furthermore, the Point Mugu Naval Air Base Fire Department also responded to the collision.
