Suspected DUI Driver Hospitalized after Solo Crash near Chestnut Avenue
FRESNO, CA (May 24, 2019) – Firefighters rescued a suspected DUI driver after her car crashed into an East Central Fresno canal on McKinley Avenue.
According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened near Chestnut Avenue, at about 2:30 AM. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle traveled about 100 yards down the canal.
Emergency responders rushed to rescue the woman and transported her to a local hospital, where she is expected to survive. Authorities confirmed that the driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Investigators believe that impairment played a role in the crash. Additional details will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
