Fatal Vehicle Crash on Highway 1 in Marina Kills 1 Person
Marina, CA (September 2, 2020) – On Tuesday, a woman died in a vehicle crash on Highway 1.
The fatal accident happened on September 1 near Imjin Parkway in Marina.
California Highway Patrol said a Chevy Blazer driven by the woman victim was traveling north on the highway.
It then drifted to avoid a small couch in the fast lane. Then, the vehicle swerved to the right to evade the sofa, before swerving back to the left and into the center divider.
As a result, the Chevy struck a guardrail and the driver.
The victim was not wearing a seatbelt, and was thrown onto the roadway. Authorities pronounced her dead at the scene.
Moreover, authorities took the service dog which was in the vehicle with the woman to an animal shelter.
As a result of the crash, the authorities closed Highway 1 for an unknown period of time.
Police do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash. Though, they are still investigating the incident.
Sweet Lawyers would like to extend our sincere condolences to the loved ones of the victim.
