Ricardo Tejada Arrested in Fatal Car Crash in Woodland Hills
WOODLAND HILLS, CA(December 17, 2018) – An unidentified woman killed, believed to be in her 20’s, in a car accident Monday morning. The identity of the victim has yet to be released to the public.
Los Angeles Police Department reported the crash happened before 2:00 AM on Topanga Canyon Boulevard near De La Osa Street, south of the 101 freeway.
Officers stated the victim driving a 2018 Honda fit, was attempting to turn left from eastbound De La Osa onto northbound Topanga Boulevard when she collided with a 2003 Dodge Ram, driven by Ricardo Tejada. Tejada was approximately driving 60 mph, in a 40 mph zone. Traffic was temporarily shut down along Topanga Boulevard.
First responders arrived shortly after the accident and pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Tejada was transported to Woodland Hills Hospital for further medical evaluation, status on his condition has not been disclosed. He was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.
No further details have been disclosed, as the investigation continues.
