Woman Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 46 [Paso Robles, CA]

1 Dead and 1 Hospitalized after Motorcycle Collides with Two Vehicles near Arbor Road

PASO ROBLES, CA (September 16, 2018) – A woman was killed early Sunday evening and a man was hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash on Highway 46. The identity of the 27-year-old deceased victim was not immediately released to the public, pending notification of next of kin.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place at about 6:00 PM near Arbor Road. A 2016 Harley Davidson, driven by 30-year-old Ryan Pavone of Porterville, was heading east on the highway when it slammed into a 2017 Nissan that was stopped on the right shoulder.

The impact threw the female passenger from the motorcycle, while Pavone and his motorcycle slid northeast. An oncoming 2010 Ford, driven by 49-year-old Brian Terrizzi of Templeton, could not avoid Pavone and collided with the motorcycle.

The female motorcycle passenger sustained fatal injuries, and she was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. Meanwhile, Pavone was transported to the Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo with major injuries. There is no update on his current medical condition, and no other injuries were reported by the authorities.

Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible factors in the deadly crash, which remains under investigation. It was also noted that the riders were wearing their helmets at the time of the collision. Additional information will be released to the public once available.
