Police Investigate a Fatal Crash on Salt House Church Parking Lot in Kirkland
Kirkland, WA (August 25, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a woman died after a crash in the parking lot of the Salt House Church.
The fatal crash in Kirkland happened at around 12:30 p.m on August 23.
Kirkland Police said a female driver and her two female passengers returned to the parking lot after running errands.
Moreover, the woman, who resided in the nearby Helen’s Place shelter, parked the car in a temporary parking spot at the church.
One of the women then exited the car and walked to the back to retrieve some items when the driver suddenly drove in reverse, driving over the woman and into the side of the church.
EMS aided the woman on the scene but she did not survive.
The driver told police she thought her car was in drive when she accelerated.
Police are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
