Hispanic Woman Dies in Rollover Crash on Highway 85
San Jose, CA (August 14, 2020) – On Friday morning, a woman died in a rollover crash Highway 85 south of Camden Avenue.
When CHP officers arrived on the scene at around 1:30 a.m., they located a dead Hispanic woman and three abandoned cars. Police said she looks like to be between 17 and 20 years old.
Upon initial investigation, authorities think the woman had either been the driver or a passenger of a white Honda Accord. Police said the vehicle left the road and struck the dirt embankment to its right. Then it turned over and ejected the woman killing her.
Meanwhile, the green Honda Civic and a green Honda Accord did not display noticeable damages. CHP said it was not easily identified to what extent those cars were involved in the crash’
Authorities said all three cars appeared to have been stolen. None of the thefts were reported, but police cited the appearance of the ignition as evidence.
Furthermore, the CHP officers closed down all three northbound lanes of Highway 85, as well as the on- and off-ramps at Camden Avenue for more than a couple of hours. All lanes were reopened by 4:30 a.m.
