Oregon Driver Fatally Injured in Accident near Liberal Avenue
CORNING, CA (September 28, 2018) – On Friday morning, a woman from Oregon was killed in a rollover collision on 5 Freeway. The deceased victim’s name and place of residence were not immediately released, pending notification of family members.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 8:36 AM, just south of Liberal Avenue. Due to unknown reasons, a red Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck reportedly overturned in a solo-vehicle incident.
Events leading up to the collision are unknown at this time. The Chevy driver, described to be an Oregon woman about 50 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders. No other injuries were reported in the accident.
The right lane of the freeway was temporarily closed, and clearing operations and preliminary investigation took place. The cause of the rollover crash is not yet known, as officials continue to investigate the fatal accident. No additional information has been released to the public.
