Tacoma Woman Killed in Horrific Pedestrian Crash on South Meridian [Puyallup, WA]

Puyallup, WA (December 9, 2024) On Saturday evening, a 26-year-old woman from Tacoma was killed after a horrific pedestrian crash on South Meridian.

According to Puyallup police, the deadly collision happened at about 11 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Meridian.

Reports say that the 26-year-old Tacoma mother lost her life after being struck by a car while flagging down traffic for help in Puyallup on Saturday night.

Authorities say that the woman was traveling with her two young children when her vehicle became disabled in a nearby parking lot. She stepped into the roadway to seek assistance and was struck by a northbound vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Puyallup man.

The driver immediately stopped, called 911, and cooperated with officers at the scene. Authorities determined he was not impaired, though he was cited for driving with a suspended license and lacking proof of insurance.

Central Pierce Fire and Rescue transported the woman to a Tacoma hospital, where she was conscious and breathing upon arrival. Tragically, she succumbed to her injuries early the next morning, at approximately 2:39 a.m.
