1 Dead in Indio Pedestrian Accident on Avenue 51 and Monroe Street
INDIO, CA (October 20, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, a woman died in a pedestrian crash on Avenue 51 and Monroe Street.
The incident occurred at around 2:09 p.m. near Avenue 51 and Monroe Street.
According to Ben Guitron of the Indio Police Department, they found an elderly woman in a motorized wheelchair. They found her sitting upright on the dirt shoulder of Monroe.
Reports confirmed that she suffered major injuries and responders took her to the hospital. However, she later succumbed to her injuries.
Meanwhile, the vehicle driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene. Also, the driver has been cooperative with the investigation.
Furthermore, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
